Obituary: Veronica Kelso, 84, of 5933 Cottage Drive died
of a heart ailment Sunday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at
St. Theresa's Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Glendale
Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelso was born in Mason City and lived in Des Moines since
1955. She was a retired executive secretary with the YMCA.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Minneapolis and Doug of Eden Prairie, Minn.; two
daughters, Sue Hill of Urbandale and Barbara Struyk of Wayzata, Minn.; two sisters,
Eleanor O'Bryon of San Jose, Calif., and Mary Lou Garms of Waterloo; and eight
grandchildren.
The family will greet friends after 4 p.m. Thursday at Dunn's Funeral Home, where a rosary
will be recited at 5 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to her church.

AMES, IA. -- Services for Doyle D. Kelso of Ames will be at 11
a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Ames, of which he was a member. Burial
will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Kelso died of a heart
ailment Monday at home. He was 71.
Mr. Kelso was born in Galva and lived in Ames since 1948. He was
the retired owner of KASI radio and was also the owner of Kelso
Radio and TV. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the Golden K Kiwanis.
Survivors include his wife, Lenore; a son, Dennis of Juneau, Alaska; a daughter, Sherilyn
Hitch of Iowa Falls; a brother, Marion of Iowa Falls; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home, where the family will be
present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, the Senior
Citizens Day Care Center or Hospice of Ames.

Obituary: Evelyn Illian Kelso, 62, of Albion, Neb., died
of an apparent heart attack Thursday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at the Albion United Methodist Church, with burial at Dublin Cemetery in Primrose,
Neb.
Mrs. Kelso was born in Primrose and lived in Des Moines until
about 10 years ago. She was a retired grain merchandiser for Continental Grain Co.
Survivors include her husband, Clair; two stepsons, Larry Kelso
of Minnetonka, Minn., and Paul Kelso of Dallas, Texas; her
mother, Ethel Illian of Albion; two sisters, Lorraine Shepherd of Tubac, Ariz., and Elaine

of a heart attack Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burris lived in Des Moines all her life and retired as a housekeeper five years ago.
A son, Robert Kelso of Des Moines, survives.

Obituary: Ruth Kelso, 94, of Prairie City died of a heart
ailment Tuesday at Clearview Manor, where she was a resident for eight years. Services
will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Masonic
Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelso, a homemaker, lived in Des Moines most of her life and
was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
